Every day in Guatemala, a country in which everything grows...
PEOPLE GO HUNGRY

Poverty in Guatemala is widespread in the countryside and amongst indigenous communities and is a central cause of malnutrition.
Please help us break the cycle of poverty and improve their quality of life.
Good nutrition is the foundation for good health and development.
According to the World Bank, about 75 percent of Guatemalans live below the poverty level, which is defined as an income that is not sufficient to purchase a basic basket of goods and basic services
A family of six needs to have at least $40 a week for just the basics of
corn, beans, rice, oil, sugar, eggs, and oatmeal (which is used to make a drink called avena")
that’s without chicken, meat, fruit and vegetables.
Most families only have half that amount to spend on food and others have a lot less.
Impoverished families are in desperate need of help right now, only a small portion of them are being reached
They're barely surviving, and their children are being swept up in a vicious cycle that needs to be broken
